My underfolder flat is bent, rails are welded in and all rivets/ pin holes have been checked for fit.
Time to program the kiln and heat treat it...

On our way to 750 degrees for normalizing for two hours, then up to 1600 degrees and the alarm will signal me to quench it...

If I had seen this sooner I would have suggested putting the center support in first. But then again I've been wrong about a lot of stuff, it will probably be fine.

Truth, that's a lot of unsupported 16g steel to go all wiggly at that temp.

One more AK...

I had planned to put spacers with screws through both ends and the center support, but I didn't feel like waiting for the spacers to come in or making them.
The two-hour normalizing should settle the steel before the 1600 degree step so it does not move around so much.
That's the idea at least...
I'm more concerned with what happens when I tug it out of the kiln at 1600 degrees to go quench it.

The guys with a little bit of foresight bought up a bunch of used $10 Yugo barrels a while back. The rest of us buy those $10 barrels from them for $40

It didn't move around at all.
There was actually more movement while tig welding the rails to the flat before I heat treated it...
