Won't that take it out of sporting use in the Fed's eye. Factory is a Muzzle Brake.

Read his post again. His barrel is threaded, and the bayonet lug still is intact. It would already be considered "not particularly suitable for or readily adaptable to 'sporting purposes'”. Regardless of which muzzle device he uses.

The PSL when imported complete only required the removal of the bayonet lug use capability (they grind off the sides of the lug).

The one in my kit wasn't either. The one on the uncut barrel was.

We're not talking about your kit. we're talking about Airman Skitters kit, and the fact that due to it's features it will need to comply with 922r when assembled.

                Yep... here's the Kit:

It does have the threaded muzzle and the brake is removable, it has not been fixed. The Bayonet Lug is entirely intact as well. I know many of the Rifles and plenty of the kits were imported in a "Sporter" Configuration to comply with US Laws. This often resulted in the cutting of the Bayo lug or its complete removal.

As my father and I want to keep the gun as close to mil-spec as possible, we'll be going 922r compliant to keep it as original as possible.

So if he want's to run it he just needs to add a US made muzzle device along with his other US parts he has. Or run all original parts and grind the lug. Rhineland offers a US made stock to add another 2 US parts if he want's to run a import muzzle device. The stock from Rhineland adds about 2 inches to the rear.

Did you get lucky in your kit with the bolt hold open parts?

Bolt Hold Open and Original Optic Rail included, yep!

And, huh... the Tabuk Hider would work... but it wouldn't be quite "correct"... A Mag Follower would be ideal... or a US Made Muzzle Brake repro... but I don't think anyone makes the latter, or the former, for that matter.

                            5. Gas Piston

That just leaves a sixth US Part since the PSL, from what I understand, has the same compliance requirements as an AK.

Don't get into a tussle over things, guys. It was just a misunderstanding. I wonder if I could fabricate or have someone fabricate a few followers for Mags... they'd be US Made...

There was an article in the Shotgun News a while back where me made mag base plates to add the last 922r parts. It's mostly flat with rolled edges and one hole. Whereas the follower is a formed stamping with a bit more going on.

I agree the floorplate would probably be the easiest part to fab. Sounds like a good article. Wish I had seen it.
