Casing stuck in barrel

Stop screwing around right now. No steel tools. No torches, unless you really know WTF you're doing. Take it to a gunsmith. The more sh*t you have jammed in there the more he's going to charge you to remove it.

Holly crap I think I would have beat the crap out of that guy. Cheepo depot has brass rod on the shelf 3/16" will work in a .223 barrel. 1/4" works for .308

This is an easy fix in an AR.
Just pull the barrel, drill out the back end of the case, tap it and pull it out like you do with cases stuck in a reloading die...

I have actually encountered a similar issue in a mosin, and an AR. I don't know why people insist on using wood in their barrels.anyway, if you are interested on how I did it, send me a pm. If I post it here I will catch a lot of naysaying. But I have successfully done it with two rifles with no damage to the barrel, so I know it works firsthand. Trying to press the wood out will just compress it further.

Heat the outer part of the chamber and get a aerosol freezing spray heat the outside and freeze the case. Chamber will expand and case will shrink

Another technique that's been suggested before on this forum is to find a snug-fitting wooden dowel, fill the barrel with oil, then stick the dowel in and beat the piss out of it. Hydraulic pressure should pop the casing out.

Or . . . you know . . . take it to a gunsmith.

I would follow AR15barrel's advice. It is exactly what I thought up if I was stuck in the OP's shoes. If you don't have the tools or the know how just take it to a gunsmith.

Its all valid advise. We use steel rods in my club and knock them out.

shove some rebar from home depot and knock that puppy out. If you break the upper ill buy the BCG and if u break the BCG ill buy the upper.

That's how to get the wood dowel out of the barrel. Drilling and tapping the brass is the way to get that out.

I've done this to my MAS 49-56 and an old 30-30 I used a metal rod, some WD40 a little bit of time and a hammer came out 3rd or 5th hit good luck

I actually have a old cleaning kit that came with brass rods, had a wolf case get stuck in my su-16. Used the rods and a small hammer. IMO wood is never good, breaks to easy. You could also try just heating up the case to re-liquify the laquer on the case
