    Need Epoxy Release Agent Ideas.

I need to bed the rear tang area of a composite rifle stock with a knead-to-activate epoxy putty, but my old container of Acraglas release agent is dried up like a mummy.

Any alternatives for a release agent?

    Thanks in advance.

        shoe polish works well also

If you can stand a few thousandths of wiggle, I like clear plastic packing tape. 3M or off brand doesn't matter.

I once used a mold patched with bondo and the worst cracks got taped. For release carnuaba wax and PVA and the only part that released cleanly was over the tape.

Paste wax, surf wax. Melt a candle onto it and scrape down and smooth. Wax paper if it's not a compound curved surface.

Do you have time to order more

Bedding rifles with Devcon Stl Stl epoxy for 25 years with plain old shoe polish and modeling clay to fill the voids.

Take your dried up Accraglass release agent and soak it in Alcohol. Thats what is used to thin it.

Thick layer of Johnson's paste wax or buy some "mold release agent" at the marine supply store.

car wax works great. I bedded 2 M1A rifles with caranuba wax. (I'll never do that again, but both turned out well)

I used Play-Doh to fill voids and silicone spray when I bedded the heel of my M1A recently. Worked fine.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!
