How do I create an extended shoe trigger?

I'm using a Marlin 60 for a MK43 M60E4 and the Marlin 60 trigger sits high and back inside the pistol grip of the M60E4.

I'm looking for some suggestions on how to create an extended shoe trigger to bring it out further. The Marlin 60 trigger is metal so I can drill a small hole into it if necessary.

What material would I need?
Best way to attach it to the original Marlin trigger?

I dont have a milling machine.

I have the following basic tools to work with:
Table vice
Angle grinder
Dremel
Power drill
Heat gun
Brake press
