I have a 1911 that had someone peen the front of the frame for a better grip. So I gas welded it in a jig to prevent warping, then hand filed n polished it smooth. Then had the entire frame and slide reblued. Came out great, though you can tell its been revalued, it's now a very nice commercial 1911 made n 1916. Still shoots good. The value is most definitely higher vs Mickey moused.
