If you are a competition shooter, or want to be one, then get the SRT and the action enhancement package ( but check the competition rules first because some types of competitions only allow stock factory firearms for competition ).

If you have shot 5000+ rounds in the gun and have never done a full complete strip and clean then do the SSP as well. The cool thing about the SSP is SIG will replace small springs and low cost parts if they are showing wear, which normally doesn't really occur until you got 10,000 rounds through.

Don't be afraid to order the parts kits online and change them yourself. The SRT kit is really simply to install and makes a big difference in the trigger.

It's not recommended for just anyone to attempt an SRT install. Some of those kits do require fitting, along with knowing what you need to inspect after installed since you are dealing with an entirely new sear in the pistol.

The SRT is a must have item for a Sig.
With time and patience, it's not all that hard to do. If you aren't comfortable doing it yourself, we are blessed to have many talented Sig smiths locally.
I personally wouldn't send it back to Sig to have it done.
          Then said He unto them...
"and he that hath no 1911 designed by my servant John Moses Browning,
let him sell his garment and buy one."
And they said, "Lord, behold, here are two Glocks."
And He said unto them, "Meh, it's a good start."

          Luke 22:36-38 (somewhat paraphrased)

If you can change the batteries in your TV remote, you can install the SRT kit. Stop acting like things are too difficult for the comman man Plisk.

Except if you put the batteries in backwards you can't jam it up bad enough you can't use it.

While SRT's are easier than most upgrades it definately requires someone with some mechanical experience and some tools. There is some people that have problems just screwing something together, let alone using tools and fitting parts together.

SO while someone as elite as you might think it is as easy as putting batteries into a remote ( it is not ) your snobbish attitude with no details on how to do it is meaningless. If a person wants to own a firearm but not know how to fix one it is not a requirement, nor should firearms snobs make it so.

I wonder when you fly would you know how to fix the aircraft if something broke? If you car broke down would you know how to fix the electronics with basic hand tools?

If you want to help post helpful information because that is what this section of forums is for ..... there is other places on the forums where the snobs hang out and make fun of firearms owners, so go there if you won't help.

Hey Dan, I was trying to encourage someone to try. You seem to think like the left wing. Let's save him from himself. There is plenty of information out there if you look. I am not a snob, and I will show anyone who wants to learn. Unlike most gunsmiths who seem to want to keep the secret knowledge to themselves. Here is the secret, its not that hard to work on a gun. A gun is not the same as a airplane or a car. It is so much simpler. Get off your high horse.

in addition to the many excellent suggestions and recommendations made above, i might also suggest you consider speaking with Mr. Bruce Gray (grayguns.com). He's really fantastic with these guns and a very nice person to deal with. I've had the pleasure of owning several of his guns and am incredibly pleased with the quality and execution of the work.

or goto Costco and get some batteries as sjm9877 has suggested.

He strikes me as a Walmart shopper. The Kirkland bulk pack may be too challenging.

If you are going to keep the gun forever and not envy anyone else's, maybe.

You never get back with resale what you have invested.
