I am not making any assumption of the OPs abilities.

My problem is your ignorance and your spreading of it.
I too have had some issues with some parts not being totally drop in or slightly out of safe specs. Plisk speaks the truth, the average end user may not know exactly what would be considered safe for sear and safety bar fitment. Alot of people here WOULD be able to do it themselves but some may not and not knowing the OP's skill level and understanding of firearms function referring him to the Sig factroy or a Sig certified armorer is only the smart thing to do.

And there is no online armorers course if you want factory certification.

Another thing to consider if you don't have the factory or a certified armorer do it is that changing some parts yourself will void your factory warranty

list of answers to posts above:

Yes exactly you void your warranty when installing any part in a SIG .... in fact taking off the grips per SIG policy voids the warranty.

You can only get SIG factory certified through SIG directly

SRT and other drop in parts have been known to be out of spec

Yes this is a job that someone with some mechanical skill and attention to detail can do in short order, but again you void the warranty.

Yes the SRT CAN be done incorrectly as some parts can be incorrectly installed or damaged by using the wrong tools.

No I know of no gunsmith or armorer that charges more than 1/2 hour time to do a SRT, which normally is between $25 to $45 ( I charge $35.00 ).

      and last but not least:

SINCE WHEN IS IT A CRIME TO WANT TO PAY SOMEONE TO DO SOMETHING FOR YOU????

sjm9877 ..... you want to be a penny pincher go right ahead it is your right ...... but insulting the OP making it look like he is not even smart enough to do a job as simple as changing batteries in a remote because he wants to pay someone to do it for him ..... that is not right thinking but is left thinking.

LOL Dan, I agree with you because I think you are right for the most part(please see you're PMs)

So if the OP voids his warrany then what? is sjm9877 gonna cover the cost to fix his pistol? I seriously doubt it! What if there is a problem a few years down the road? Sig can supposedly tell if the grips have been removed. There is a reason why manufacturers only want the factory and factory certified armorers to work on the products
