Rpk kit

I ordered my RPK kit today from apex can't wait to get it. This will be the first barrel I populate I think it will go well. I'll just take my time

My one and only suggestion is to measure all journals, and parts BEFORE you try to press anything.

Thanks for the advice hopefully it will be here next week or the next. I will have plenty of time to work on it kids are in Arizona with mom for there 6 week visit. To bad they are not old enough to buy anything yet

I've got 3 of those kits from apex beggin to be built but I'm to chickens*** to do my own barrels. Please do tell us how you do. You'll inspire me to do the same.

If it goes horribly wrong, I shall never touch the kits again. So... No pressure. . hahaha j/k

If I get stuck illcall on my buddy Domingo. My friend sent his kits back to Tennessee to be built. I told him I would help him but he sent them out anyways he will have them back in a week or so after being gone for several months. I'll keep u updated how it goes thanks

I've done 6 Romy RPK "pop's".

Probably a Green Mountain (not that they will ever admit that, though they really should), which is a quite acceptable barrel. You're the 20th person that has reported no problems with these kits with US RPK barrels. Cool beans indeed!

None of the RPK barrels that we have sold to date were purchased from Green Mountain Rifle Barrels (GMRB).

are these a different batch from the ones they had the last time?? if they are not make sure to check and see if your gas block is worn out, the kit i bought gas block is so worn out it causes the rifle to short stroke. Im going to have to buy a replacement most likely.

Does it take standard AK mags?

The ones I saw at the RPK BP (and mine) all had good gas blocks. I specifically looked for worn out gas blocks after I read about the problems you had.
