    80% .308 lower bolt action?

Anyone know where to find an 80% .308 bolt action lower?
I'd like to build an M40-A2 replica, basically a modified Remington 700.

Also, if you know a good place to order the other parts from that would be great.

    Thanks,
    RC

i know there was a guy making short and long action blanks that were wire edm cut. i know he advertised in either home shop machinist or machinists workshop magazine. ive been searching through my issues and i cant find it.

as always when you need it you cant find it. if you do some searching there is some talk about them a few of the machinist forums. if i find it ill post it.

      found the info

For all of you who have a lathe and mill and want to build your own bolt action, this is made from a 8" tall 1.5" bar of 17-4 SS Condition H900 (44 Rockwell-Same as Nesika).

It has the bolt way EDM cut and the outside is turned true with the bore. It will yield up to a 1.450" Action.

The bolt way dimensions are as follows:
      Bore .700"
      Lug Width .449"
      Lug Bore .998"

Perfect for a Remington or PTG bolt.

$200.00 each plus $10.00 to ship.

Payment by Money Order, or Check. Checks require 10 days to clear.

        Thanks for the link!

Looks like that project is a little out of my skill (and tool) set... Guess I'll be going gas piston on my .308
