The hk pinned look is achieved with a modded trigger housing. The receiver has no modifications.

I wouldn't be comfortable owning an AK even with fake tacked on sear pins- it's an excuse to be arrested. And to top it off, it's something that is uncommon, and easily identified as an illegal mod from a distance.

You ARE planning to use a TIG welder for this?????

To be honest the best way would be spot weld a thin steel square to the in side of the hole ....... fill the hole with steel weld rod, making sure you weld past the edges of the holem on the outside and finish the outside smooth and level to the receiver.

but like I said before unless you are really experienced and know how to heat sink the area correctly you can distort the surrounding steel.

The metal surrounding what would be the third axis pin hole isn't structurally significant. It's really just filler. It doesn't contain any chamber pressures. Everything behind the locking lugs on an AK receiver is basically just to guide the bolt and hold the stock and magazine.

Besides it's almost certainly within the HAZ of the cuts that destroyed the receiver in the fist place. Heat in that area will be a non issue.

While that is correct how far does that heat distorsion extend to though. If not correctly heat sinked and heated for to long of a period you can have a area of couple inches in diameter that get distorted. That would over time cause problems as the metal gets stressed out from shooting and getting banged around.

True gunsmith Dan but does the receiver get hot or stressed when you shoot?
Mine doesn't.
As for banging around I trust 70,000 lbs of tensile strength for any abuse I intend to give my receivers.
