I am always checking craigslist for machine tools to see what's out there. Instead of starting a new thread for each one (unless it is something really special like the $350 mill the other day) then we can just put it in here.

Here's a smaller knee mill. It's HF, but it looks to be in good condition. I think it is a bit overpriced as it is getting close to used bridgeport money, but negotiation could bring it down. Located on the Peninsula.

I really like the looks of the mini mill. And the price seems reasonable (not that I know...but I see drill presses for this price range).

without the mods it would not be much of a deal. with them, it is good, unless there is something wrong with it that the seller isn't mentioning.

I have an x2 mini mill.

For those looking to buy a mill for gunsmithing purposes, I'd make the jump to at least an x3 size.

The x2 is just not heavy enough, and has too many weird quirks.

I've bought a lot of tools from grizzly - if you sign up for their catalog they sometimes will give you a 10% coupon good for a year that you can stack with the sales they usually run on their mills. This is often a better deal than what I've seen on the used market.

Surface grinder

Here is a smaller surface grinder if anyone has use for one.

Emeryville - SF Bay Area.

These take up about 36" x 33" x 66" tall.
And are about 700-800 pounds. 120 volts.
Working table size is about 7" x 13".

Seems like $300 is not a bad price and should be large enough for firearms.

Grizzly G1004 milling machine with 8x30 table. Includes built in coolant system and a Shumatech 350 3-axis digital readout.
Speed range is from 270 to 3200 RPM.
Mill is in good shape with no mill/drill marks and a new 1.5 HP/220V Emerson motor.
All documentation for the mill and the DRO is included on a CD.
The vise shown in the pictures is not included with the mill.
Total weight is just under 1000 lbs.
