Fixed muzzle device, gas block and handguard dilemma

Ive been fighting this problem for a few months and I'm hoping you guys can help me figure out a solution.

I have a 14.5", .750 dia barrel I'm using for 308 AR build. The barrel has a BABC brake pinned and welded on it. I have a rifle length, Daniel Defense AR10 Lite Rail I want to use. I purchased a Troy 2-piece gas block.

My problem is, the DD rail will not fit over the Troy gas block. I'm wary of cutting/grinding on the gas block to reduce its OD since I don't think I can take enough material off of it to clear the handguard without compromising the gas block's function.

Is there another lower profile 2-piece gas block I can try? Anyone have any other suggestions? I really want to get this build finished but I'm stuck right now.

    Thanks!!

I've got an 18 3/8" FAL and people say it's kind of obnoxious.

Yours is probably going to be pretty nasty with a barrel that short.

If it were me, I would try to sell that barrel and get another that is at least 16" so that you don't need a blind pinned muzzle device, with 18" probably being a better choice.

Then get a one piece low profile gas block.

I already have an 18" 308 AR. I'm building this one for a different purpose and will be sticking with the barrel and brake that I have. I don't want to stick someone else with this unresolved problem by selling it, either. Thanks for the input.
