I ordered mine Monday and it hasn't come. I called and they said they've been swamped. I told him about all the action here and he asked that people forward pictures of their completed builds. He'd like to put them on their website.

He promised to ship mine today :-)

It came! But "no", the hammer springs are not fun. For the record, they go around the pin, inside the assembly, against the front. Very tight.

I bought the TNW kit and the cuts to the receiver were easy with a Dremel & file to smooth out burrs. But I'm having a problem correctly assembling the FCG and the kit only came with blue prints with no real instructions on assembling the FCG. Can anyone here help with step-by-step instructions on building the FCG up? I've read the other threads here and searched the web with no luck on finding a "simple" guide on the TNW kit. Thanks

If you go basically from rear to front, it works out. The trick IS the hammer springs. They DO go inside the housing and the drawing is accurate.

I'm sure someone local would be happy to show you - I'm in the San Fernando Valley but will be in Sierra Madre on Saturday and HB on Sunday :-)

Thanks for the replies. I can see the hammer springs go inside the housing with a pin then holding the hammer to the housing. I managed to assemble (I thing I reversed the hammer springs though) the FCG but there does not seem to be enough force behind it when the trigger releases the trigger bar then hammer. After a few times the trigger bar flew off along with the sear spring and safety spring I'm in SoCal in Highland so the offer of help from the Bay area appreciated but not able to travel. Any further help is appreciated. Thanks

sorry for the possibly stupid question, what is the difference between the TNW kits you guys are talking about, and the 80$ ones that cheaperthandirt.com has? i have been wanting to start building kit guns and this one looks simple enough

The TNW kit already has all of the semi auto conversion work done for you. There's a lot of changes that need to be made to the base parts kit to turn it from an open bolt submachine gun to a closed bolt semi-auto. Also the TNW kit includes an 80% receiver that is very easy to complete and a pinned 10rd magazine.

Not to mention CTD is notoriously anti CA and refuses to sell just about anything here.

If you can weld and use a dremel this might be a good first build.

have someone weld up the front trunnion, the middle receiver and the large receiver before you cut the holes. That way you are still "building" the gun.

By all means borrow tools and ask for assistance, but do the cutting and welding yourself to stay within the law.

Some of you guys who have finished your TNW builds, got any pictures of your cut receiver holes and butt welded barrel extensions? Getting ready to start mine.

Also, did you engrave serial #'s? If so, where? Did these guns originally have a serial engraving spot?

I'm looking for someone to engrave a serial number for me. Any leads in the SF Bay area? Or elsewhere for that matter as I could ship it.
