    Corrective lens challanged

Bought an AR M4 556 clone. CMMg. I'm putting a Leupold Mark AR 3-9x40mm on it. Now I need a mount.

My .270 and .243 are 5" from lens to scope lens. My question is... Being corrective lens challanged how do I know how to distance the scope "mount"? I'm looking towards the Larue LT104. But i'm confused as to the center line and to obtain proper eye relief.

    What say you??????

Ok one eye relief is a function of the scope and can be adjusted by sifting the scope forward or back in the mount.
The scope height is based on the standard sight height. which is about 1.5 to 1.625 above the rail. With a 1" scope tube this puts your ring in the high to extra high class as you need about 1' from bottom of the ring to the top of the rail. These are common tactical rings and can be had from Brownell's and others.
I would not spend the money on a Larue but thats up to you. All you need is a set of rings

      How long is your scope?

Even a lot of short low power variable scopes need a forward offset scope mount to place a scope ring in front of the windage and elevation turret.

There are mounts cheaper than a Larue and some scopes just won't work with normal rings on a standard upper without making you move you cheek weld way back on your stock.

Check out the Burris AR PEPR, Rock River High rise cantilever mount and even the CAA DVSR if you are mounting a ~small scope.
