I like it, a coat a gray paint or some matching carpet would make a great finish.
Now if I had enough pistols for a rack I would use steel rod with end caps and then heat shrink over the end cap to keep them in place. I would worry over time the derlin would sag and drop my gp100 breaking my rear sight blade again (dont ask).
Brass is an interesting idea though hmmm maybe I need a pink pistol to justify my rack.
One thing for sure is that nothing is for sure.

My yard is fenced, why isn't my country ?

      That is what she said.

Cool Idea! I seen a unit that slips over the top shelf and gives you two rods, one above and one below online somewhere but for the life of me I cannot find it again.

They also made some plastic rods with velcro on one end and you put the other half of the velcro on the bottom of the top shelf, then throw those stupid notched boards away.
Just slip the rod into the barrel of the gun put it in the safe and slide the rod up to stick the velcro parts together stands the gun up and you are not limited by whatever some manufacturer thinks is enough room for each gun. There again, I can't find them again

I made the little s-shaped shelf hangers for my guns. I used plastic tool dip to coat them as it was cheaper than Heat shrink, and they will fit a .22. Dang that video is long and detailed....good job to the author as even a chimpanzee could make one after his video. (I mean that as a complement) My suggestion would be rrind the ends of the rod to a nice round profile, then to make your heat shrink longer so that it goes off the end of the rod, it will shrink to a nice little point and you wont need the tips, then your .22 will fit no problem.
"I love it, its my second ammendment but we with the gun was the only thing between those guys and the oven and they still can't know this theys too dumb and I seen the ovens. They dont know it but they cant take all the guns and if ever, push ever comes to shove we'll be back." - Don Burgett
