    80% lower

    I have been seeing alot of 80% lower ads to mill my own receiver. What are the laws about this. I would love to build a couple

      It's totally legal to make your own firearm for personal use.

      That means you have to do all the work and you can't make it intending to sell.

      You don't have to mark the firearm at all but if you ever do sell it, marking is required.

      All NFA and California "assault weapon" ban laws apply so keep it legal. If you want to build a pistol, make sure it is initially built in a roster exempt configuration so you are not guilty of building an "unsafe handgun". After it has been built it can be converted in to any legal configuration.

        thanks everyone. I actually milled a couple lowers out today. what an experience. I had a great time, learned alot and met some great people. I will be posting pics of the complete builds and I highly recommend people get in touch with seesm (calguns member) if they want to pursue an 80 % lower build.
