removing burs

so what is the best way to clean up burs on the inside of a AK47 barrel once the gas port is drilled?, the gas block and everything is already installed. The only thing I can think of is a stiff brush, but is there a better way?

Shoot as many rounds as possible. Rinse and repeat.

Well, before you drill you figure out where the drill will break through and push a lead bullet to that point.

Then when you drill through the edge it hardly leaves a burr at all.

thanks for the replies, the barrel was already assembled by someone else, so I'm just trying to clean up what has already been done, but the lead bullet/plug sounds like a good method wash.

I guess I'll have to fall somewhere in between ott1 and bigbob

How far into the barrel from the crowned end is it. A dowel rod slit and wrapped with a small piece of 400 grit can usually get the burrs off, gently spun, no drills, do it by hand

shoot it out with a few rounds. worse thing that could happen is the bur will plug the gas port in which i simple drill bit will unplug it. thats the worse case scenario usually it just gets knocked off by the bullet
