correct me if im wrong but when you bring a pistol to the ffl to do a ppt if that your selling isnt registered (to the seller) there is going to be a problem?
otherwise whats stopping me from slapping a pistol upper on my ar rifle lower and selling it as a pistol

Can someone explain in detail (or provide a link) about the whole one shot concept.

I went to the link for bwiese and saw the one shot issue mentioned but I am not sure how it is executed.

From my understanding when you build your AR pistol, you have to first build it as a single shot pistol.

After that then you can convert it to a regular AR pistol that will accept magazines.

But since you dont have to register it, and since for all intensive purposes no one really knows or has to know you built this. Then what are the proper steps to follow in regards to making in a single shot then converting it and is their any documentation you need to make?
      1 Peter 3:15

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect

      2 Corinthians 3:3
You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

        Pistol to rifle. OK
Rifle to pistol. Against the law.

That's the whole reason for doing a home build AR lower in ca.
          To make an AR pistol.
If you DROs a lower as 'long gun' in ca and then tried to sell it as a pistol you'd have an issue (felony).
This is another reason most guys mark their home builds 'pistol'.

It sounds to me like your trying hard to PROVE your intent to sell.

Here's the thing I'm planing on having this thing hard anodized no after its hard anodized if in 5 or so years I decide that I want to sell it I don't want to have to punch serial numbers over the anodizing making it look like crap.

I made this lower as a fun project BECAUSE I CAN not with any intent to sell it in the near future . Now if you please point me in the correct direction that I want to go a would appreciate it. This thread was started to get information on how to register my lower. Not for people to chime in with reasons why I shouldn't. I was aware of all the information you people have given me before I started this project.

Well you are sending mix messages here, and we just want to make sure you have all the facts. You don't have to mark it later after it been hard anodized.

You CAN mark it, and then hard anodize it, and then sell it down the line, all WITHOUT registering it.

If you want to register it most of us can't help you because MOST of us wouldn't do it and therefore would not know how.

Good luck and sorry if I crapped on your thread.

just the fact that it is multiple felonies to do what you suggest.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Go to google and type in "ca doj voluntary registration", click on the first link that comes up, fill out the form, and send in your $19...As far as you getting heated here. You might think twice about getting sh*tty with people when you're asking US to do your homework for you.

                      Wow.
You can mark it per atf guidlines all you want, but you do NOT need to register it. The day, if ever, you sale it, then it will be registered to the purchaser. That is what everyone is saying to you. If you knew it all, why ask? Go turn in your home build for ten days and wait for your own DROS....lol

OK. You are wrong. There is no need to register a handgun before you sell it. It's that simple.
