I just came back from picking up my Springfield Armory Loaded 1911 from Will O' Hara. This is the second 1911 he's worked on for me and, as usual, he did a great job.
I had him do reliability package (check out the shiny ramp--mirror polish); an STI over-sized trigger fitted and set to 4.5 lbs.; front strap checkering job (30 l.p.i.); black oxide finish; and the final thing is Will creates a small groove on the slide release (groove marked with small arrow) and makes it easier to install without leaving "idiot marks." I couldnt' get a really good shot of the slide release as it is very small and I suck at camera photography.
The entire job cost me about $800 (parts and labor--includes sear, sear spring, and 17 lb. recoil spring). It took about six months to finish my gun. I told him not to worry about a rush job and I was paying in installments. I was finally able to pay off the balance last week and he finished it two days ago.
I haven't taken it shooting yet, but I'm sure it will work just fine. If anything doesn't work properly, Will will make it work...guaranteed. Also, he's a super nice guy!!
