Waiting for BP: Nit-picking AK bits

How far does that extend past the end of the receiver?
I'm trying to build a Polish Underfolder and want to know how long of a muzzle device I will need to maintain my 30 OAL with the stock folded.

Right on I picked up a couple of blemished v-3's for $10 each these are the perfect solution.

Underfolder length

For underfolders go to CNC Warrior for a threaded extension. You can then put on your choice of muzzle brake. Overall length needs to be 30"+

Just for info. With the AK-builder extended AMD break I had to extend my grip plate 1.5" past the end of the receiver.

Well I thought I was done nit-picking..
Cleaned the top cover and degreased the crap out of it to try something new for the finish:

POR-15 Chassis Coat Black: UV stabilized, chip resistant, oil/chemical resistant:


Sprayed top cover:


Its not overly glossy, and builds really well. Next, I'll degrease the receiver and give it a shot of this stuff as well. I'll be taping everything off except for the receiver itself before I spray. Full cure is 24 hours, and when I've used this stuff on truck frames in the past, its durable as can be and retains its black color very well even with road garbage being thrown at it constantly.

I'm really glad that I left the patina on the bolt and piston assembly. Its going to look much better not parked.
