    AK-47 Ejector Too short: #*&@**!!!?

Yep, ground the ejector down too much and it does not eject rounds. It's an AMD-65 FYI. What the f**k do I do now? Do I try and weld an extension on it or just start over with a new receiver?

You can weld on an extension.

        Weld tips

Thanks for the responses. Do you grind off the whole ejector tab, cut a new one out of spare material and weld it at the root? Or do you just build up a weld bead where the material is missing and grind it to shape? And, do you heat treat it when you're done? Thx, DL

weld the tip so you build it out enough to be able to start ejecting again. you will need to shape it a bit so its able to pass thru the bolt.

I see a lot of people grinding their ejector before its welded into the receiver. I prefer to weld the rails first so I can ride the bolt and see how much I need to take off.

This is also how I build. There is a very min you want to grind off. I have never grinned to much off.

Another thing I have seen is people grinding the ejector until the bolt carrier runs perfect before they install their center support. Sometimes the center support spreads the receiver apart. Once it does, then the ejector is too short.

I was too use to the 47 length and ground my 74 ejector tip about 1.5mm too short. I did what everyone always says and just beaded the end with a tig. Now its perfect.
