It was also possible that the spring was placed into the bolt before the extractor (instead of placing the spring into the extractor then placing both into the hole). I think the extractor was being wedged back by the spring not being inserted in the extractor properly. This was making it so the extractor was pushed towards the outside of the bolt and it wouldn't grab the case. When aim small was finished tinkering, the bolt face and extractor looked totally different and the extractor seemed to be in the right place (as compared to other ak bolts).

Aimsmall, Thanks for all the help and thanks for posting that pic!

          My happy posting

This is the best I could do. What can I say, my kids love guns! By the way, my 6 year old was shooting an sks and ar a couple of weeks ago. It was friken sweet. Now that the AK is up and running (I hope) I'll have to get him dialed in on that thing. It was a pleasure meeting you guys and I hope to do some more interesting tinkering in the future.

A word of advice if ever assembling these bolts, put the spring in the extractor then hold the bolt upside down and slide the extractor/spring into the bolt as one unit, if you put the spring in the bolt then drop the extractor in, the spring can hang up on the extractor which may result in damage when you try to put the pin through.

Rattlesnake, it was good times today man, looking forward to a trip to the range in the next few weeks.
What? no reference to the AK Team conference call??? LOL... that was actually pretty funny...6 -7 guys huddling around mr. wolfies cell phone. Hopefully the extractor was the issue.

                Problem Solved

Well..... it works. Thanks Aimsmall for your patience and help. Turns out the ejctor was tilted down a little and needed to be bent upward. Funny that it would come that way on a stock reciever. Any way, a hammer and a nut, a little pounding from the bottum through the magazine well and it functions flawlessly. The attached picture is of a guy who is VERY happy I'm up and running. Rattlesnake
