Well here it is!!! This is my very first AK build. I finished this one and put 500 rounds through it with not one problem. I had a Romy G and a Maddi kit that I was going to use as "practice" before moving on to the pistol. I thought the pistol sounded more fun, so dove into that head first. After finishing the pistol I moved on to the other kits and finished them both in a day and a half. I just ordered some park solution and will strip the paint off of the pistol and park up all three. I thank everyone on this forum for the support and help you all gave me. Maybe I can try a weld up next, I just saw the post on the Galil someone welded up. Looks fun!

(EDIT) Anyone who wants to dive into a build like this should be aware of the leagle aspects involved. To build a pistol using an AK platform, the original cunstruction must be a single shot only configuration. I acomplished this by not trimming the lower bolt rails in the mag well. This will prevent a mag from being inserted into the mag well and result in a single shot pistol. The pistol had to have a barrel longer than 6", but shorter than 16" with an overall length longer than 10.5". To acomplish this, The barrel stub I had was roughly 8" long. I then set the head space and went as far as to range test it in that configuration. At this point I could now convert the single shot 8" barrel hand gun into a semi-auto short barrel pistol. I ground down the lower bolt rails, pulled the barrel and turned it down to final specs. This is when I added the gas block for semi-auto action. This was alot of work, but was fun. I also suggest taking alot of photos. You don't need anyone to inspect your work as it is being done, but if you end up needing to prove your process, They would be handy. And yes, the mag is a 10/30. (EDIT)
