It might be your bolt is is hitting your ejector. You might need to grind/polish down on your ejector just a tad. As you pull back on the carrier, check and see where your bolt is hitting, if its on the ejector, then thats your problem. You can also try and just pull the carrier back and forth until it breaks in but, it depends on how much material needs to be removed.
Another area might be your Fire Control Group but, if its not installed it shouldn't be a problem. It usually takes a awhile to break in your hammer and bolt carrier group as you pull the carrier back and forth. Oil helps as well.Comment

from my limited experience, there is typically fitting required between the bolt and extractor. if you have not touched it at all with a file, and the carrier is nice and smooth without the bolt installed, you most likely need to fit your bolt/ejector with some filing. just enough so the bolt isnt redirected by the ejector. remember, this will wear, so a little touch is ok, dont take off too much. id defer to an answer from someone on the ak team before beginning, they may have better guidance.Comment

I think it depends on the amount of binding. A slight bind may be able to work itself out over time. If its a lot, fitting may be required. As to fitting the trunnion to the bolt or the bolt to the trunnion is an answer best given by the AK Team/expert. Pictures always help.Comment

Could be -
A- receiver is slightly bent inwards (occurs if center support is pressed too hard)
B- ejector needs filing
C- rail is not in line with the trunnion.
Edit - Just reread you post "bolt deviates to the right as it slides past the extractor."
It's your ejector - just hand file a little at a time using a mill file. Keep the same angles that are currently there when you file. Don't file too much, just enough to pass the bolt.

Looks like your trunnion (on the right side) is not riveted on flush with the inside of the receiver.Last edited by 69Mach1; 03-30-2011, 1:21 PM.sigpic
