    Please help with FTF

My 6.8 SPC build has a FTF issue. It appears that the feed ramps of my upper and barrel extension are not matching very well. There appears to be a flat vertical surface where they meet up. Would it be better to have the ramps of the extension filed to match the upper ramps better or to replace the upper receiver in the hopes that the new one will match up better? In either case can someone recommend a good gunsmith in the Southern California area to do the work (not Randall)?

Which Gen is it? Is it the waffle pattern one?

Ya need to tweak the mag feed lips slightly out in the front so the rounds are pointed slightly higher so the rounds don't feed so low on the feed ramp. Depending on the follower, you may have to scrape material from the front lower and the rear upper part of the follower also to make the rounds tip upwards. Try bending the feed lips with smooth jawed pliers first or use sandpaper to clean up the burrs if you use a regular type. I know it sucks with such an expensive mag but sometimes it's what's needed with the newer mags.

I'd give ya a link to 68forums but they're doing a remodel(?) and the pics aren't there right now.

Thank you, I'll give that a try.

Mine does that a little too.

I've been using a PRI as well. I'll have to fool around with it but it has been feeding about 98% at the range (I haven't shot it much and I had one or two FTF's in the first 2-3 mags, smooth sailing since then).

I think I'll play around with the lips to keep the bullets looking pretty.
