PSL project done - Range report update

So I had seen the centerfire systems PSL kits in the past and thought it would be cool to build one (always been a fan of the 7.62x54R round), but seemed like a lot of work, so after getting more proficient on builds I decided to give it a try, just completed it yesterday, it is built on a coldsteel blank, it doesn't have the traditional side rail, I went with a standard AK rail. Now I just need to find time to try it out at the range.

Just got back from the range, what a blast to shoot, tried out 3 loads (reloads) and was quite pleased with the results, not I think I'm going to swap out the stock trigger ;-),
pics of the groups are post #22

the receiver was nice and shiny and seemed good quality. I used Norrells moly resin paint for the finish. I really like it, goes on easy, best to do it when the wife is out, you have to bake the parts for an hour after applying to completely cure the finish.

Very nice, congratulations. Did you paint the whole rifle or just the receiver?

Nice. I'm doing the same thing for the San Diego build party in January. Centerfire kit and Cold Steel blank. How long did it take to get the parts? I ordered the receiver about a week ago and the kit a couple of days ago.

Looks really good. I'm another one wanting to do one of these(after I finish all the other sh**) +1 waiting for a range report.

What did you think of the blank/rails/etc? I haven't seen any of their stuff in person.

The blank seems to be of decent quality, Too bad ak-builder doesn't make one,the rails need a bit of shaping / shaving as they don't fit against the flat walls without a bit of material being taken off, I think they could have been designed better.

Bigbob, Sorry I forgot to answer your question, I just painted the receiver, I contemplated painting the barrel, but I don't have something large enough to bake it in

Is your PSL muzzlebrake pinned? If so, how did you press the barrel into the receiver trunnion?
