NDS3 Failure to Eject Issues

Chris, if material behind the extractor was the problem, you would have noticed it when you pulled it out. So, we can eliminate this as a possibility. Many of the Romy "G" kits had this problem although I don't know if it actually caused FTE problems in all of them.
There is something curious about all this though, even though your ejector tip is a bit short, it still seems to be of sufficient length to eject the cartridge.Last edited by HotRails; 08-04-2010, 9:08 PM.Comment

Yes but not reliably. I checked my NDS1 with a Saiga bolt and carrier. I did the same with with an AKM and my Saiga receiver.Chris, if material behind the extractor was the problem, you would have noticed it when you pulled it out. Saiga bolt and carrier in NDS1. You can see it goes completely past the ejector. My camera died but there is a small gap where the ejector slides past the bolt that could lead to the intermittent ejection problems.

AKM bolt and carrier in Saiga receiver, not the best pic but you can see the ejector will not let the bolt slide by at all. That is what I would say the ejection problems stem from. The Saiga is an AK74 style ejector and is longer then the AKM style.

The OP built a Saiga kit on an NDS3 receiver. The Saiga uses AK 74 parts, look at my pics and you can see the AKM parts will not work in the Saiga receiver. The ejector is too long, therefore the NDS3 is too short to have reliable ejection. There are 3 kinds of people in this world.
