    Rimfire question

I posted this in the Rimfire section but did not get much response.

Hoping someone here might know more. Like explained, there were no FTE problems, it did cock, just didn't load the second round.

Any ideas why this would happen?

Not really to concerned as it needs some break in time but it was odd.

i bet you are using bulk .22lr. most bulk like federal or remington golden are cheap and inconsistence with powder.

So you fired the shot...bass push back enough to cock the gun but not strong enough to load another bullet.

Just clean and lube your gun really well. Keep it wet while shooting.

Try it with some high velocity ammo (cci minimags come to mind) and see if it happens. Keep it well lubed and hand cycling (without ammo or dry firing every time) helps with break in.

My friend has the same gun, he uses all manner of bulk ammo with no problems out of the ordinary.

Yes, Federal bulk & Winchester Xpert. They both say they are High Velicity but I don't really know the specs on the ammo. Haven't seen any cci around but I'll look harder. anyone know a good place to get ammo besides Wallyworld near Pasadena?

Gun shoots great though. Too bad it's gonna cost almost as much as I paid to put sights on it.

Dave, Turner's usually carries CCI ammo. There is one in Pasadena on Arroyo Pkwy, or West Covina on Azusa.

The problems could come from the mag follower getting hang up somewhere. Did you lube the mags? if you did then clean off the lubes....sometimes the oil from the action could run down to the mag as well, and mixed with the fouling could slow up a mag.

If this is a new gun then just shoot it to break it in a little more before worrying too much, but definately try different ammo.

              Thanks

Not too worried about it. It ran well otherwise. It was always the second round that wouldn't load. After that, perfect. I did take it all down, clean, lube, etc. before I took it out. But I didn't even think to lube the mag at all.
