I want to go. But I have no experience in building AR's. Is that going to be a problem? I would like to observe and learn, but I don't want to slow anyone down. Is this build party, for people with experience only, or can anyone attend?

Actually, the hogging out doesn't take long at all. Most of the time is spent on the finish. If you have DROs on the mills, it will cut down ALOT of time. Especially for the bottom deck @ 1.249. With DROs, about 2 hours.

There is, or was. Someone up there was starting with a group buy and he said he could do engraving too. He also had shop time on a CNC for $65 per 80%. I told him I would buy a lower and engraving but haven't heard back for a while now. His handle here is Cali-V and this is one of the threads:

You'll need the JIG to hold it true on the mill. You won't need the top guides. I hardly use the tops anymore. If you have a real lower, visualize what needs to milled out and you'll see there aren't very many cuts needed. You really see more when you compare it to an M16 lower and realize that you only need two cuts - the upper deck at 5/8 in just a simple U shape and the lower. DSA does this, doesn't make that auto sear block cut like most AR lowers have.

                  Time for an update.

Will this be scheduled over several weekends? If so, when?

Due to time constraints, I am not sure if I am going to be able to make it. What city will the BP be hosted in, exactly? Also, if I don't make it and you guys need to use my jigs, you're more than welcome to as long as I get them back the same way I left them.
Will trade liquor/wine/beer for parts and accesories and ammo! PM me. Dont drink n shoot. Offer void where prohibited. Must be 21 or older, etc. etc.

I am interested in doing a .223 as well as maybe a .308. I have no experience with the DIY receivers, but i'm sure I will catch on quick. If we don't mind leaving them unfinished, will that help cut down the time it will take to do this?

Depending on my schedual I would love to join in on this, I might be up at Camp Roberts for a marksmanship clinic/competition, not sure of the exact dates, and theres one other thing that is starting up around that time frame that I might be part of.

If I do come, all I'd really need is the machining of an 80% and maybe anodizing if we are going to do that there as well. I can install the LPK and all that at a later date.

Where? I would like to attend to learn also. 308 sounds appealing...How much to build one of those?
