I thought i had finally finished my ak after dealing with everything to make it legal, but this morning when i was about to testfire it i noticed that it was having trouble chambering the ammo. the bolt locked but it took a bit of force. i was too scared to fire it like that so i checked it with my go/no go gauges and the headspace was perfect. anyways i was just wondering if it was just the ammo or maybe my go gauge has some defects? should i try to fire it anyways?

When you say the bolt "barely" locks is kind of like being just a bit pregnant.
It's either locked or it's not.
Could your issue be the way you tried to load the rifle.
Semi automatic weapons are made to have the bolt / bolt carrier released after it it fully brought to the rear and then released allowing the full force of the recoil spring to be released . This allows the bolt and carrier to strip the cartridge from the mag and fully seat the cartridge in the chamber and then fully lock the bolt.
If you "baby " or hold the bolt handle during loading you can almost guarantee a problem.
This is how you should load a AK.
Point empty rifle in safe direction with safety on.
Lock loaded mag in mag well.
Place safety in the fire position.
Pull charging handle fully to the rear.
Release charging handle.
Place safety back on the safe position.
Check to be sure bolt carrier is fully forward.
Remove safety, acquire target and fire.Poke'm with a stick!

are you pulling the bolt all the way to the rear and letting go??
Or are you riding it?Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you,

Are you using hollow point ammo?

Does it lock without the ammo? Or do you still have to use force to close it?DiaHero Foundation - helping people manage diabetes. Sending diabetes supplies to Ukraine now, any help is appreciated.

He must be riding the bolt carrier home.
As far as parking, if the barrel is not chrome lined, I believe the rifling will get "etched", not sure what else. All I know, is its NOT a good situation....
Cycle the AK, and Cock the crap out of it!!! Let the bolt carrier fly man!!!
