Need help parkerizing / borrow a stainless pan

pretty sure if there is no exposed steel, there shouldn't be a problem, the zinc coating(galvanizing) won't react with the solution, but it should be cleaned with a degreaser of some sort, 409 should work.

That'll work! All you have to do is get the temp to 190-200 and then turn the burners down a little. Adjust as necessary after a minute or two.

well then i have problems. it only gets up to 185 full blast, perhaps I need to get the burners a little closer to the stainless

one big plus is that it will hold an entire AK

You can probably find a sinle burner to add to it. Craigslist usually has a few pop up every now and then for really cheap.

I'm thinking you want to stay within the recommended temp. of the particular solution you're using. My best results have been with preheating the thoroughly degreased parts before immersing them in the solution. I was surprised to see at CSA's build party how fast the process was when the parts were heated by the sun first. When you're done for the day pour the solution into a sealable container through a coffee filter to get the crud out. I like to do a good oil drenching after Parking.

I have seen several recommendations to use WD40 after Parking. I used it last time I Parked because I didn't have my usual oil mixture and was very unhappy with the cruddy residue WD40 left behind. I have been using a mixture of oil sold specifically for after Park treatment mixed with motor oil and STP. I soak a towel in it and keep it in a plastic container.
