Anthropologists have determined that some form of hammer/pounding tool. Is most likely the first tool that ancient humans invented.

And craftsmen will likely agree that. To this day, it is still the most misused.

Sight pusher is also safer as it's not possible to hit the slide if you are not doing any hitting at all.

The only people that argue that a hammer and punch is as good as a sight pusher are the ones that refuse to buy a sight pusher.

Lots of people get work done with inferior tools.
Some people realize the value of good tools and they buy them.

Why would you want starrett punches and a plvmb hammer when you could just get cheap ones from harbor freight?
The reason I will not buy a sight pusher is due to the fact I've never seen one worth a damn. Anything Universal is sacrificing something to accommodate the others.

So far they're hard to find. Ah well. Perhaps one day. Maybe I'll replace it with the SP01 slide and make a FrankenCZ.

Oof. He missed a lot more than just a few times.

                This.
I have mucked up more sights and slides with a pusher than with a punch. The damage with either usually happens when removing OEM sights. If they give much of fight, they get cut out on the mill. If the replacement is PROPERLY fit, punch or pusher will do just fine. Most have no idea how to measure a dovetail.

H&H and Westly Richards do OK with punches and files...

I used a sight pusher on my Glock 34. The new sight was an extremely tight fit in the slide so I lubed it up with molybdenum disulfide which made it slip into the slide with relative ease. But it?s still stuck in place and will not move unless the pusher is used again.

Hope this is the right forum for this.

A friend installed the sight on my CZ 75 SA. The sight did not go in easily and he ended up using a hammer and punch to get it in. As you can see, he missed a few times. I hate the way this looks and I'm wondering what my options for repairs are?

Is this a cerakote situation? File/sand/then coat?

CGW said they could help but I'd rather find a local shop if possible.

                          Appreciate any advice. Thanks!
CZ sometimes does paid repairs outside of warranty. Contact them and ask if they would do the work.

Start out with an apology for letting someone bugger up their gun.

                          Returns
If you qualify for warranty/custom/paid repair work, the service center will issue a Return Authorization number.

The Return Authorization number must appear on the package in BOLD lettering.
Include a detailed explanation of the issue along with your name, phone number, email (if applicable) and a physical address. (NO P.O. BOXES PLEASE)
                          -The firearm must be unloaded.
-The firearm must be properly packaged
-The firearm must be sent through a carrier that can provide a tracking number. CZ-USA will not be held responsible for packages lost or damaged in transit.
Maybe they'll front you a new sight (or ask if you can send along a new one for installation by non-Bubbas).

I think this was the hammer for installing some other sights on other guns.

I rigged a sight pusher using a small machinists vice and brass dowels. Brass is easy to clean up. For a polymer slide delrin dowels work, too.

A little geometry and knowing the thread pitch let's one move sight 0.001" accuracy - this gets windage true for 100+ yards.

I did that on my newly built Glock 26 prior to the Dicken drill fun!
