Stuck/split Casing

Well, I made the mistake of running reman ammo through my AR9. One case split in half and is stuck in the chamber. Any suggestions on how to get it out?

You need a ruptured case/broken shell extractor

It'll go in like a normal bullet and hook the case mouth. Then yank the charging handle.

Try some long needle nose pliers. See if you can get a hold of a lip or underneath the case.

Yeah, didn't initially notice it was a 9mm. Use the over size brush to grab it. Sorry I thought it was a 223.

If you are stuck, you can get ghetto/ red neck too

Take an empty to lowes / depot or garage
Find a coarse lag bolt that will grip the inside of the brass

Insert it - turn a bit to get it to bite a little bit. Pull it out.

Sometimes you can get luck with a cleaning rod down the barrel and catch the damaged / spent case too. You can ruin your cleaning rod this way too.

Soak everything with oil / atf fluid
Heat until HOT with a hair dryer muzzle down
Heat will help oil / atf fluid creep

The right way is the broken shell extractor.

In the field, get creative.

Just don't ruin it. Metal bolts can ruin a chamber.
