AR trigger guard causing blisters....

I have a Noveske rifle. I like to compete in carbine matches with it. I have a problem with the trigger guard though. It gives me a blister on my middle finger, on the middle knuckle, where it touches the trigger guard, at the junction of the grip and the trigger guard.



I am looking to contour that point with a half round file, polish it and paint it over. I've done it before on polymer trigger guards, but am hesistant to mar a one piece lower.

Any body ever had this issue? Is there another solution?

#1, try contacting the MFG and see if they have a solution, likely not the first time they've heard this.

#2, try adding a drop or two of Plastic-Grip (for tool handles) much less perm than the file route.

#3, what about a piece of Kydex that wraps around the trigger guard and sort of snaps into place?

I like the plasti-grip idea!

I also called Noveske. They didnt have a recommendation, but the conversation did discuss that it may be a fitment issue with the MIAD, or just my knuckle ergonomically not liking forged trigger guard.

I will first try a spacer between the grip and the lower to bring the grip down relative to the trigger guard. That may help.

Adhesive backed moleskin-available in the foot-care section of your local drug store.

Dye it black with a generous application of a black sharpie.

Sand down then rattlecan. Sometimes the aesthetic edges create more problems.

Wrap the offending portion in microfoam surgical medical foam or self-cling stretch medical tape. Then wrap it in electrical tape.

I've used a half round file to radius the corner right there on several of my lowers. No problem, easy to do. It's a tool, make it fit you and you'll be happier with it. I didn't bother to paint them after.
