    A decent AR-15 ambi selector?

I just bought an ambi selector and I'm not very happy with it. By itself it looks fine but when installed in my lower the new right hand side lever hangs out of the receiver quite a bit.

It is tightened all the way down but there is still about a ~1/16" gap between the side of the receiver and the underside of the lever.

Since the standard selector and the ambi both have very little gap on the left hand side I'm surprised by this. Does anyone make an ambi selector that doesn't have such a huge gap?

    Thanks.

        I'm not sure.

The manufacturer was not listed on the web site I ordered from.

I thought it was like all the other small parts, possible minor differences but all pretty much good to go. It looks fine, they just should have ground down the shaft further so that it doesn't have such a big gap.

I like my RRA Ambi-Selector and prefer it over the Stag one I got this time around. The RRA one looks many times nicer than the Stag but with the current market environment, I can't be too picky or choosy about it.

I have two Stag ambi-selectors. That's how they are on my lowers as well. Doesn't really bother me because they don't interfere with anything.

Can you shorten the pin in a lathe to make it a bit shorter so the selctor is closer to the lower but the amount your in need of?

The shaft is keyed so that the extra lever will not rotate freely.

They did that to make it. I'm wondering why they didn't remove more then...

I just purchased 2 from riflegear and tried out both of them in my build, both of them have the gap.

They are designed to leave a little gap so that they work without rubbing on the lower. A 1/16th inch gap is a bit more than normal.
