I have a Remington R25 chambered in 243. Until now it has been flawless. When I fire a shot it will not eject the empty case. I have tried different ammo and magazines with the same results. Does any one have any ideas ? Thank you.

Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

Ejector or extractor. Simple fix.Looking for RPR or Precision Rifle Accessories? Check out Anarchy Outdoors. http://www.anarchyoutdoors.com?afmc=1wComment

Have you cleaned it?
Does the bolt cycle all the way? (Is the empty case staying on the bolt and the bolt head picking up the next case in the magazine and jamming it on a double feed? If it's not, the bolt may not be cycling completely, which brings us back to the first question.
Have you cleaned it? Is the gas port and tube clean? Does the bolt slide back and forth easily?NRA Endowment Life MemberComment

Pull the bolt out of the gun and see if the extractor and ejector are functioning correctly with a fired case.
The extractor should snap over the case rim when you push a case down into the boltface.
The ejector should cause the case to snap off to one side and fly out of the boltface when you let go of the case that you were just holding firmly down into the boltface.
If you do not get these two behaviours with your parts, post some detailed pictures of your bolt face and extractor from a few different angles.
Did you have a high pressure event recently?
If so, you might have brass stuck in the ejector and it needs to be detail stripped to clean it out.
A high pressure event will also bend or break the extractor.Randall Rausch

I tried putting an empty case in the bolt. When I let it go it flew out. There were no high pressure incidents. Here are a few pictures. Thank you for your help.Pull the bolt out of the gun and see if the extractor and ejector are functioning correctly with a fired case.

I have solved my problem. I put the bolt together backwards.

Maybe mentioning in your original post that you had disassembled the bolt would have helped diagnose the problem. Simply stating that the gun would not longer extract and eject leads most people to assume that the gun stopped working in the middle of a string of fire.NRA Endowment Life MemberComment
