Wanted: Slide fitting advice

Both the A and B fitting points can be used to limit the side-to-side play as well as both the C and D fitting points can limit the up-and-down play.My frame 'A' is overcut by 0.008" as described (probably 0.009-0.010" by now since I lapped). My B is about 0.004-0.005" last measured before lapping.
I'm gonna do a triage / post-project reassessment tonight if I don't get sucked into work stuff and take the appropriate measurements to report back. I picked up the gun earlier in the morning (imagine holding the gun by the frame and swinging the frame side to side). It does make clinking and clanking noise as expected since it's loose. Up-down play is not terrible, but side-to-side is awful as expected of 0.008"+ overcut. Live and learn I guess
I don't think it's critical which of those surfaces is tighter fit.
It's obviously nicer if they were fit to the same clearances as then you have more surface area which means the gun's fitting job will last longer.
This is where lap fitting really shines.
It only cuts the high areas, leaving the fits on all 4 areas pretty similar.Randall Rausch

Yep, lesson learned. I realize now that 0.009" and 0.006" is too far off. (A&B clearances) Starting on my 9mm later today and aiming to do better. May have to hold off a few days as I do some glock stuff.
Also put an assortment of parts and pins together to make my 1911's breach-loaded bolt actions (looking for a trash 6+" barrel at the moment as well.) to be on the safe side of SSE.Comment
