    Paint steps on AKM

I have all the parts to build my milled Akm. Should i assemble everything first then get it painted or vise versa? Paint parts first, then assemble everything? Because i also wanted to cerakote my barrel. Im afraid when parts are pressed together, the barrel paint would leave scrape marking.

I don't think there is such a thing as a milled AKM. But then I've been wrong about a lot of things.

Do ALL the metal work first.
Then go test fire it and make sure it works properly.

Then remove every part that comes off easily with simple hand tools, degrease, sandblast, clean and paint.

Barrel, sight and trigger work on most pistols and shotguns.
      Most work performed while-you-wait.

There are now milled AK receivers which accept standard AKM barrels, bolts, carriers, triggergaurd, fire control and top cover.

          This. Always test before coating.
