Custom Side Charging Upper Issues

So I bought this upper off another CGer without really looking at it as I wad in a hurry at the time. I assumed I was buying a factory side charging upper but it's actually a standard S&W upper with a channel dremelled into the left side. Now i doubt this will work for a couple reasons: the channel is not level and the bolt handle would hit the bolt release when cycling (see picture). Also, I'm new to side charging, but isn't the charging handle usually located on the right side, not the left?

Basically, my question is: is there any way this could work, because I don't see it.

Yeah, I don't really want to bubba it since I was planning on putting it on a really nice build.

good lord. Scrap that and do it yourself. If you cant then spend the money and please look at what you buy so you dont do this all over again.

oh wow... this is terrible looking. scrap for sure. Charging handle can be on either side and in some instances is on both sides. If you're going to be making a "nice" build, skip this receiver and chalk it down to lesson learned.
