I'll drive to you. I have a long weekend this upcoming one. What would cost me for a stripped lower and upper and a handguard

You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.

Can't be any worse than $140.00 for a used Harbor Freight "armorer's" cart covered in stickers or $100.00 for a used Matco ratchet, right?

Ok let's put cost in perspective

              Equipment
Blast cabinet with sufficient air supply
Decent spray gun touch up size or airbrush
Clean air supply from a good compressor
A curing oven that can hit 250 degrees f minimum preferably up to 350 and adjustable anywhere in between 100 and 350
A place to do the work that is as close to dust free as possible.

              Then you need materials
              Cerakote is $65 per pint
              Acetone, tape, gloves, etc...

So cost of the part has ZERO to do with the cost of the coating.

If I was in n a good mood and had other work being sprayed that day
I might be inclined to cut a deal. But most of the time you're going to pay full bore price.

You could paint a 1965 Pontiac GTO in candy apple for $15K or paint a 1965 Yugo the same way for $15K

I get this crap all the time guys want $900 in work done to a $50 part and don't understand why??? I made a real nice set of double square bridge bases for a 1891 Arg Mouser. Now that rifle is worth all of $200 in good condition yet a set of bases will set you back $300 not to mention they are cut for Talley rings at $100 for fixed mount or $200 for QC's
Fun costs money. How much do you want to have??

Yeah I've heard that too. Even had a guy try to barter me down to $10 on a $20 job. If $20 is going to break you, maybe you shouldn't be spending money right now.
Or guys that are willing to pay but can't wait to get it.

By the way if you were interested. Letting you know that the tool cart just got sold for $120 and the ratchets at full asking price. Still have the impacts for sale if you're interested

So now you have the money to pay a fair amount for the work you are looking for.
                        Bravo!

The big insult is asking if you will work for half wages. How would these guys like it if their boss told them they can still work, only the pay is 50% of what it was the day before.

By the way. I have a local shop now that does cerakoating for $60 a receiver upper or lower and handguards. Total deal was $170 so if any 1 is interested message me and I will give you his info. I see his work and it's awesome. I went with a burnt mustard color.
