I would contact Randall to get his impression on either repairing or replacing the blade.

Real gunsmiths are like Hens teeth,

there are a few guys here that can repair what you have, I being one Randal of AR15barrls another. Kendog but he's in the middle of no where.

And a few others that fail to come to mind.

That sight need the gentle persuasion of a polished dowel pin and a hammer. about a half hours time and some patience. I've rolled over worse dings in million dollar injection molds this is no different.
So take your pick. I'm in national city but work two jobs so I'm available weekends only and for limited time even then.

Go see Randy Lee or Scott Folk at Apex Tactical Specialties in Los Osos. For a project like that they're the only ones that I would take it to.

I have used kcstott, and if I had the same problem as the OP, that is who I would use.

Beside the obvious damage to the blade, the whole blade looks like it was crappily made to begin with.
I would tend towards completely replacing the blade with a new one made-to-fit.

UPS and the mail man find me just fine.
I too would just make a replacement blade and install it.

And you were given options too..

Finding a damn good gunsmith is hard to do.

Being fortunate enough to have one in your back yard is like hitting the lottery

Check with Jojo at JV Dynamics, or Jimmy at 1911 Speed Shop, or Will o"Hara at Will's Gunsmithing. All three specialize in building custom pistols and have customers nation wide.

The work you are looking to get done is fairly simple, just have the next guy shape the sight blade out of heat treated steel instead of mild steel.

When the 3 smith's above said "I would push it out and build a new the part... They were saying they can do that task. Not "If I were you, I... "

I believe RandyD was saying that. Kcstott, Randall/arbarrels, Kendog all responded.

Kcstott, Randall, kendog. I know from previous posts elsewhere that these guys are smith's.

                            I dunno.

I'm a bit confused why some respondents seem to have a problem in trying to find out who, and what all, are out there in terms of gunsmiths. Anyways...those of you that have been helpful...thank you.
Well like I said I'm right in your back yard. But i'm not a smith I'm a tool maker that likes and knows guns.... Better then the tinker toy boys down this way for sure. Find me a guy down this way that know how to dry fire the second barrel on a single trigger O&U or a better quality single trigger SXS shot gun,... Yes i can fix your pistol, yes i can fix the sight you have, yes i can make a new sight from 4140... you want it rust blued, Cold blued or just left in the white??
