Hey all,

I'm soon going to start my very first ar15 build. I have already a list of part i will be using and places to purchase. Was wondering if any of you could give me advice and and or tips on how to save on the build and so fourth. I thank you for your time upfront. Below is my parts list.

Buy whatever makes you happy.

Whenever possible support calguns vendors.

I won't support ctd, and they probably won't send you any of those parts here anyway.

Also, shop around. Better places to shop than cheaper than dirt.

you did not factor in Shipping and handling costs.

Also take a look at Anderson's kit here http://www.andersonrifles.com/produc...on-m4-gun-kit/ for $538.00. all you need is the stripped lower, but it comes with a carbine length free-float handguard (8.75 inches) vice the 15inch one you want to put on a 16 inch barrel.

And mnichols the only tools I don't have are what is mentioned and the head space guages. Was just going to have someone check that for me and save myself 80$ for the two gauges

The guages are used during assembly. Save money elsewhere.

I was under the impression that barrels already come headspaced and you can't readily adjust AR headspacing

unless your bolt is like really out of spec or something...I may be wrong.

Same and no, CTD will probably not send these parts to you.

That's true.
You still should CHECK headspace though to find out if YOU have one of those barrels or bolts that are out of spec.
