    I can't imagine the holes not being lined up, they are drilled straight through, not from one side then the other. If you have a gage pin, you can check hole alignment by hand, the drill press will have an insane amount of runout likely, it's an expandable chuck, No real accuracy. Hence the need for drill guide bushings to make reasonably accurate holes.

    The only difference between the TM anodized and unanodized would be whether they're shipped to anodizing or not. It is entirely possible you got a couple of bad parts, but what is bad, who knows. That would have to be in the hands of TM to determine.

    Are these fully milled or are they still solid in the FCG area ?

      I have be watching this thread and was waiting to reply till I had the measurements you emailed last night.

      The anodized lowers and the ones in the white are the exact same lowers with the exception that the anodized ones are sent for anodize. Anodize should be .0008" to .0012" and should not make the pocket .490". I took a look at a random sample of both lowers on the shelf here at the shop and measured them. The pictures are below. They do measure at the correct specs. I am not sure if you might be hitting one of the radii when measuring to get to .490". I am not saying there is no chance they could be .490" but this would be the first I have heard about it.

      What really caught my attention was " I'm going to mill and connect the the rear pockets, and measure as I go. " This is the problem that you are having. I guarantee you are hitting on the front radii of the upper lugs. There are a few reasons we made the gen2 lowers but one of the biggest is it is easier for TM to make the shelf with the proper depth then the average guy at home. You should still connect the shelf to the firecontrol group per the AR-15 prints.

      I tested this hypothesis on a known good upper and the anodized lower I measured. The upper did not fit and hit the corners as predicted. I attached a picture of this as well.

      Please take a look at your uppers and the anodized 80%'s and I bet that the front radii is where your hitting. Then please take the anodized 80% you machined and connect the fire control group to the shelf.

      I replied to your email from last night as well. If you or anyone ever has any issues please email me at sales@tacticalmachining.com and I may ask for measurements and most of the time a pic shows those and or the problem but I will all ways take a look and help you the best I can.

      Ishootforblood if this suggestion does not work please reply to my email with a pic of the connected fire control group not fitting the upper and I will send a return label for the un-machined lowers.
