80% arms universal easy jig is what I used on six of them and they fit perfect. I wouldn't want to use anything else! Plus, their customer service is the best

Yes sir. They basically fit all the available lowers except for 1 of them, but I forgot which one it was. Anyways, you can't go wrong with the 80arms jig. Check my writeup and a few others writeups on here. Also, there's a thread about the router base jigs in regards to types of routers and has tons of helpful info. Good luck and I'm sure yours will turn out awesome!

I forgot to mention, if you do use the 80arms jig, they have a promo for a free 80 lower as long as you do a write up.

Thank you for the reply. Just to be completely clear, you used the 80% Arms Easy Jig with the Tactical Machine 80% lowers, and the Jig fit correctly?

FWIW, I did 4 TM lowers, 1x Gen 1 and 3x Gen 2 using the 80% easy jig.

My only advice is get a full size router and be careful the end mill doesn't come loose in the collet..

I'd really like to find someone experienced in the Palm Springs area that could watch me do the first one, perhaps take photos for a write up. Regardless, I bought a few of the $29.00 TM lowers to learn on, and I also have a good camera & tri-pod. Regardless, I'll post a review..good...bad or fail. 29 bucks is a small price to pay for an education. Thanks again.

No offense to 80% Arms but I prefer this video over there's.

Go slow and get a feel for the drill motor/press and router. Like others, I found automatic tranny fluid to work best for cutting fluid, I also think a shop vac is a must.

Thanks for the responses. I do like the looks of the easy jig, and I've read that they will "give" you a lower if you do a write up, and send them the link, etc. I've also watched the videos, and read a few write-ups by guys that probably got a free lower. But, I also like the simple-coolness of the ARsunlimited jig. In regards to the price of lowers: the 80% Arms lowers are expensive compared to the Tactical machine lowers @ $29.00 each if you buy 3. TM's finished lowers are in the $43.00 range.

I'm not trying to be a "Cheap-Charlie" but when you add up the cost of everything, you can almost buy a complete AR for the cost of a jig, end-mills, router, and a couple of 80% Arms lowers.

Outside of the group buy, 80% Arms has never offered to discount any of their jigs and people still buy them at retail. It's not like they're a fly by night business that charges a premium and are gone when people wise up. Just know from numerous other members (myself included) that it's worth it. You get what you pay for.

This hobby isn't meant to save you money, especially with stripped lowers selling for $50.

With regards to your last comment. Once you finish one, you'll want to do a bunch more. Your problem will be to stop at 3 lol... no SERIOUSLY!!! Especially with the $29 each for 3 items.

Then again, if you go down the cheap route with the jig to save money, you'll find out why after finishing one. Durability should be taken into consideration.

Yes Sir. You are probably correct. I ordered 6 TM lowers; 3 raw and 3 finished @ about $235.00. The Easy jig and mill/drill bit kit ran about $215.00 (I added a bullet button to get over $200.00 for free shipping). Throw in a Porter cable Router from Amazon @ bit over $100.

I already have enough "spare" parts for a couple of complete builds, but now I'm considering pistols and other calibers. YES, you are probably right: this won't be an inexpensive hobby. Thanks again.

If you order anything else from 80% Arms you might want to get an extra end mill just to have laying around. It will probably take at least 2 to finish 6 lowers. Those TM 7075 forged lowers are pretty hard, the 80% arms 6061billet lowers are A LOT easier to cut.

Be glad that's all you need to build an AR. A single jig, router, and bits... As opposed to all the tools needed to build an AK for example.

The beauty of it though is once you get the tools, you can build more than one. Because lets face it, nobody builds just one rifle. Lol

80% Arms has the end mills made to fit the jig. I have seen a few that are close but you might wind up damaging the jig. Its best to stay with what works.

Your missing the point of 80% lowers.

You don't wait, pay fee's or taxes to a state that uses those fee's and taxes to take away you gun rights here.

You get to create something with your hands, even more unique with custom engravings.



I don't know why people keep thinking 80's are cheaper then store bought.
Because with ano and laser engraving i'm usually over $200 per lower.

while some are not a fan of modulus arm's marketing model, I like that their jig locates the FCG pocket, pin holes and selector hole off the front takedown pin and receiver extension hole. I've used that jig on over a dozen tactical machining lowers without mishap.
