I signed up for uspsa production this sunday in auberry. It will be my first time. I called to see what to expect and was planning on just watching my first time. I was quickly talked into shooting.

Training scars man. I've seen people unload and show clear during a dynamic critical stress incident. Games will get you killed

I've seen the same thing happen to people who only shoot off a bench. They rack the slide on a live round after they mag change. It's all about mind set. If you do something mindlessly, without understanding its place and purpose, then you're bound to do it in a stressful environment because that's how you trained, mindlessly.

Most people do treat competition like a game (nothing wrong with that), but it can be a useful tool for training if you use it properly. It tests shooting ability under pressure and problem solving- you've got x numbers of targets to hit as accurately or as fast as you can.

Are you pre-squadded? By the looks of the squadding, it's going to be a looooong day. I'll be there, if the place hasn't washed away

Squad three. When I pre registered last night only two squads had open spots so I tossed a coin and picked one.

Are the matches always this full?

Have fun, shot there my first time last month, every single shooter there was very supportive of us new shooters.
I had a blast, I don't do Sunday as it's family day or I'd be there. They do Saturday once a month too.
