What do you mean by a simulation live fire course? Are you referring to force-on-force exercises using Sims weapon systems, or its cheaper cousin, airsoft

? Or like a shoot house with actual live fire?

It kinda depends on your current skill level

Fred at sharpshooters does a force on force class with airsoft on occasion via west coast tactical

Max Joseph teaches classes with his firm TFTT. They have a class or he use to have a class with two man tacticts and a shoot house. Some live ammo and random paper targets. Some force on force with airsoft

You can check out shooters-edge as they host different instructors

Once you are at an appropriate level of training to meet there criteria, they have an occasional course on fighting and clearing in urban structures. Again it is airsoft in a pretty cool facility that is not available to the public except through this class and the federal agent who is the hosted instructor

If you do not have more than say 40-60 hours of formal instruction then you might look at frontsight as they have some simulators in the 4 day classes. Once you DG the skill test- shoot 90% or higher then you can take some of there advanced tactics classes

For the money, front sight is a good value. You can usually find a way to take a 4 day class- well at least the first one for around $150

His advanced courses have a lot of moving targets. They fly everywhere

He teaches some himself and then he contracts with other instructors to come in and teach some great courses. Many of these instructors only teach in socal via his site. Many also only teach to leo/ mil with the exception of his classes

No I was looking into the video simulators where they load up a scenario and you shoot your gun at the screen. I guess it tests your ability to make quick choices and of course accuracy etc.

I shoot USPSA and can shoot quite well so I dont want a front sight course or anything like that. I am actually trying to find something like this for a Bachelor Party gift to my friend. He is a novice shooter but would enjoy something like the simulator program.

There is an A-hole in Huntington that does a Prism simulator of some sort but I cant stand the gun and wont give him any money. Something like that would be great and even better if we could use live ammo and out own gun.

Oh, I see what you mean. I could have sworn one of the training companies that has posted on Calguns mentioned this type of video simulator. For the life of me can't remember which one...
