Changing the name on the Advanced class, sounds like a good move based on the curriculum changes (and what we asked for)

Wonder if we'll see the addition of a new Advanced class.

days 3-4 of my support side 4DDHG

Well another great time at FrontSight, it was even more fun with the 10 guy group ( 3 returns and 7 new guys).
As I was stating on earlier posts, m buddy and I decided to take the entire class support side ( I'm right handed shooting the class left handed. the reason is what if my right arm is injured, do I quit or stay in the fight?) Well it was a definite learning experience and worked out quite well.
Day-3 exposure to drawing from a concealment garment. As it happens I forget my vest in the hotel and get delegated to drawing from closed front garment (this was my first time at this too). Took my time and got the movements down before speeding up the draw. Heres a good foot note, I was using a long sleeved thermal type of material Henley shirt, covered my gear quite nice without printing. problem is that with repeated lift up,out and pulls to clear the holster it strech real well and doesnt go back in shape. this makes it increasingly difficult to clear the holster without over exagerating the count 1 and thus slowing down the presentation. use a garment that doesnt stretch. We proceeded to do a bunch of shooting
from concealent until lunch. After lunch it was the doors lecture block followed by the fun house shoot. good times! Then back to range activities.
Day-4 From morning to lunch it was the usual range activities while using concealment and the man on man challenge, that was won by one of the guys ( a first timer) in our group. the other guys just couldnt miss fast enough or killed the hostage, but a win is a win. After lunch was some more activities and the skills test. I ended up shooting a 23 with one late (garment issue) for a 26 and then one late on emergency reload (garment) for a total of 29 down, not too shabby for my first time left handed. This landed me the graduate cert. Overall in our group we had 4 graduate certs and 6 COA's, everyone left with more knowledge and skill than they came in with. All of the new guys are already trying to figure out when the next guys trip will be.
We'll just give them the 'ol number 6.

one that will not get in your way for cycling the pump or doing malfunctions. I not being nasty or anything. I used a two point and it will find its way to be in your way. I ended up using a single point and disconnected it when i was at the line. when it came time to sling up I just reattached it. The sling is only used for carrying the shotgun to and from the rack or shooting line.

Congrats on the G with support side. I think that is pretty darn good.

Maybe. I wonder how effective the stuff is. I just always think of how horrible the laser tag kid joints are. Now I know some of the new simulators are supposed to be really good but I just don't have any experience with them yet. Need to try out Artemis sometime. Anyhow as much as I don't want to get pegged with a little blue paintball is rather be prepared to not get penetrated by hot lead. No wires or anything just real guns that shoot shoot real non lethal projectiles.

Reloads are the harder part as you are going to have to learn to use a speed loader as fast as the rest of us can swap out a mag in an auto.

Trick is to just do it right. If you shoot the test clean then you can take your lates on reloads and still DG if you do it right. Don't be wrong and late.

I'll put money that I can reload my moonclipped 627 faster than you can do your bottom feeder.

Rudy used to be an instructor at FS. He would come over and show us how to run a revolver once in a while. Here is a quick video showing a variety or revolver reloads:

And somebody could likely drive a Honda faster than somebody with a corvette but side by side equally skilled folks I'll put money on the bottom feeder.

And while you reload faster (if you can) I'll have to reload less and I can do a tactical reload without leaving precious rounds on the ground.

That is badass right there for sure. However I notice all the extra steps he has to do. Also has to take eyes off target and be down and in a close workspace by his belt rather than up and pointed in. If I rocked a revolver I'd aspire to that though. Wow.

Does it feel good to beat your chest?

I'm going to bet that a USPSA master in pistol is going to be faster.

I don't know if they were ever recorded, but I'm fairly certain the fastest semi-auto reload is faster than the fastest revolver reload. Not to mention the higher capacity.

You've assumed that every person who has ever gone to FS (literally 10's of thousands) is not only slower than you, but slower on a faster platform. Think about that for a second. I personally know a Master Class USPSA semi-auto shooter who has gone to FS.

Relax, there's no reason to put anyone down. There's always going to be someone faster/better.
