Front Sight Members Check In Here!

I guy on here won that, I know his name but not sure he wants it mentioned
He got all his stuff too, safe, guns, etc ...
    As I recall
It was only after that when they made it against the rules to advertise the memberships on here, probably once they found out where/how he sold do many

Another gotcha: if you already have a membership, say a Patriot, and want to upgrade it by buying another membership, say an Ambassador, you have to pay $500 to get rid of the old one

This is why I looked at the free hotel supplement offer with a jaundiced eye. I am perfectly content driving to and from Pahrump, and I'll gladly pay $65 a night including breakfast.

100% agree his business decisions are not sound. I wonder out loud, how is he keeping FS afloat all these years? There has to be some sort of positive income or he'd go bankrupt. I can't fathom selling all that brass, M16/Uzi rentals, promotional fees paid by ProEars/the safe company/whatever that legal defense company was/etc. would keep the school in the black. It is possible the memberships are made so cheap such that (so he thinks) there is a larger audience to sell products to?

he was advertising memberships for sale and was collecting the money for the memberships and then putting in an order for the memberships that he sold with our info. He was basically "drop shipping" memberships that he collected the money on and then forwarded to FS. They were something like $350 each and for every 8 memberships sold you got a gun and it ramped up to better guns up to an M1a at something like 32 memberships. Then it reset back and you got the basic gun again for the next 8. He was selling the memberships for exactly what it cost him from FS and he kept the guns. he sold something like 300 memberships IIRC.

He didn't pre-buy them and then hope to sell them later. He pre-sold those so he was never out of pocket.

edit: looked back at my emails. It cost me $250 to get the membership and I had other FS members offering the same deal (I get a membership and they keep the guns) for $400-500.

and the transfer fees BS didn't kick in for another year or so IIRC. but it wouldn't matter to this guy since all those memberships were pre-paid and should ahve been already dished out to the buyers way before the transfer fee came about.

If he did I am glad he did not get screwed, but every one who purchased from him got screwed as the price got cut in half shortly after they purchased it.

nope, we didn't get screwed. we paid $250 for Diamond Memberships with the Alaska Supplement.

even if the price got cut in half, it was still worth it for what we paid if we every took a class at FS. And I've been there 5 times now, definitely got my money's worth.

My whole contention is that when I started there, people used to hold FS as a prestigious training location. Now if you tell people that you are member they ridicule you. To people who do not know or do not compete at any level with guns FS is a mind blow. I really do not tell people I went there because it usually leads to ridicule. It holds no prestige in the gun world Ignatius is really a joke, his name is associated with Ponzi scheme. He likes to say other schools are jealous of him. I have been to them and they are not I assure you. They like to say we don't have to give are classes away to fill up the classes. It opened up my eyes up, this was the first major screwing I ever got. I had to take 10K of money I could have used for something else and gave it to a man who turned around and not only gave the same membership away for pennies on the dollar. But what really hurt was not full filling his promises that he made or to live up to them, that he made to get us to get the memberships in the first place that is immoral. I agree with the previous post how does he pay the bills, I know how with a new scam every 6 months. Some day it will collapse, he will walk away and still have his two multi-million dollar houses and will just move on to a new scam. Just call and ask when he is going to put up some pictures of what the Hotel are to look like? How big are the rooms, bathrooms showers in each one? Ask about any detail you will get no answer. He is all talk. Bla, Bla, Bla.

I would like to hear from some one who has been there 8-10 years chime in here and say what they think about FS now as a whole.

                  As for business cash flow

Most classes are the 2 day and 4 day basic.
Let's use 4 day for numbers

40 students shooting 700 rounds each. That's 28,000 brass. At 6 cents per brass ( I am guessing they probably clean and deprime to get better price), that's about $1,700. FS pay each instructor $13hr (? Don't think it is that high). 4 instructors for 4 days is about $1,700. Anyway, they are close to even out. Some brass are worth more, some are less. If they need another instructor, they probably make it back with rental gun and ammo.

Rest of facility variable cost is paid for with commission from pro ear, safe and lawyer insurance. Lunch truck and my guess hotel also. Don't forget the $50 annual criminal background check !!

FS infrastructure is built with those that paid in $10k+ membership.

Calgunners are more informative, and I bet paid much lower for membership than most. Every time I visit, I hear people paid thousand if not ten of thousands.

As long as FS can cover its operational cost with brass and commission, rest is just gravy for the doctor.

As for making money from the brass, FS gets like $35 or so per 5 gal bucket of it. A third party collects it.

Wonder how his investment went when a few months later Front Sight Ignatius Piazza came out with a new class of membership for less. This is what you are up against with this guy, he does not care what you did for him in the past just what you will do for him in the future.

If this is another scam, he did a really good job of selling it. I just went in and bought the hotel package. $5,000 includes hotel for life, 4 diamond memberships, and one free hotel pass to give to someone going to Front Sight.

                            jk

He is selling it for $450 bucks though. with only 2 extra memberships.

Did you ever see the first video that he did to get people to pay $120k for homes he never built? That looked amazing too. Notice he is not in the new video and is making no promises himself? If this goes it will be the first development he actually did in 15 plus years. Pardon the hesitation for some of us not to drink the cool aid, but fool me once shame on you, twice shame on me. Hey I would like to see this thing go and will admit I was wrong when I see all the stuff in the video done and built, I have not made any upgrades or spent one dime since the unoriginal purchase. I have been there enough times to say I got my money's worth. Thankfully I was not one who paid $50k like some did that I have actually talked to. With $65 dollars to stay in a hotel 30 minutes away, and get free amazing breakfast's and huge buffet dinners with all you can eat crab legs and the like for under $20, plus $10 boxed lunches ready for you to pick up on your way to F.S., You will never see that there. Some how those free hotel rooms will not be free, booking cost, reservation fees there will be something nothing is free from this guy.

My wife and I are two of them. I take it in stride, it makes my wife really mad. Your in a class with someone who paid $50 for a membership, complaining about the size of the class. When memberships were more, the classes were smaller, more training, to include at night. Even the advance courses were a lot more involved. Now they are a bit slower, less supervision, a little less safe (only as safe as the persons coach), less training, and stuff now moved to advanced classes, that dilutes the advanced classes out, and is harder for people to get into.

The first simunition class I took, 9 of us, a lot of scenarios, last I took, about 50 people, not enough weapons, very few real scenarios (i.e. attacked at car, attacked at ATM) now: you are a bunch of police going in a drug house, what does that have to do with what WE would encounter? But it gets a lot of people through a scenario, but it also devolves into a paint ball fight.
