glad to see that others can see through the bad business model and empty promises. I used post cap on here and people would get all Internet ninja on me, hate to say it, but... told you so. he's a joke. until I show up and there is a lock on the gate, I will go and get my money's worth

Hopefully all of us will continue to agree that FS offers great training for a great price accompanied by a terrible marketing plan loaded with empty promises.

As long as they continue to offer exceptional training, I will continue to go and recruit others.

There are a lot of people that see the ultra bad propoganda machine, but you say one word of it on the first family forum and the perma-ban hammer comes down string and swift.
We'll just give them the 'ol number 6.

Me too, but when he used to hold Red October classes, I thought I'd sharpen my skills at FS first. We'll see how much he'll pooh pooh the AK now that he sells M4s and Steyr Augs. Yup, look for me, the guy with the Rifle Dynamics 5.45 (Gabe does not like Jim Fuller LOL)

AKOU will be having their Level 2 AK class in the spring, maybe at the Pro Gun Club in Boulder City, NV again. Their WI class is this weekend I think.

I think somewhere in this megathread a poster calculated that from the once-used brass he collects alone there is enough money to pay the RMs, instructors and line coaches. Any other income from membership upgrades, rentals, commissions from the Ammo Bunker, Pro-Ear, Beach Cafe, etc. may be profit.

Really, Holiday Inn in Pahrump is going up in less than a year. When did we start hearing about FS Hotel?

I wholeheartedly agree. FS's training is world-class and I will continue to attend courses there as long as they live up to their high standards.

As for the marketing plan being terrible, we may disagree somewhat on this point. However if by "terrible" you mean from our perspective its relentless and annoying, even stupid at times then we are in agreement. From a business standpoint it must be an excellent marketing strategy or Piazza would have adopted another method.

If one were to look at his history of marketing, there have been some missteps along the way, but overall he has kept the company running and has increased membership tremendously. Pretty successful. We poke fun at promises of lounges and VIP access and hotels and condos etc. and honestly I believe that in his heart he fully intends to make good on those promises. Whether he will be able to though remains an open question; but one thing remains after you cut through all the BS and that is, that he has delivered and continues to deliver on the one basic promise and that is delivering a world class program to teach people how to shoot defensively and to be able to do much more than simply punch holes in paper and "kill" a few tin cans.

So I will continue having fun with the marketing aspect and I hope no one misinterprets my wise-cracking as anything but that. I fully support FS and the value it brings to shooters who want to upgrade their skills to the highest level possible.

As a former LEO I can tell you that this level of training is exponentially higher than what I received in my police recruit training. But that was in a previous life, quite some time ago.....

great points, but the marketing is terrible. even the business plan, they have money issues, it comes and goes. trust me , sometimes they can barely make payroll. plus all the classes that are more advance are offered less and less because it's bug money loss. have you guys seen the 4 weapons class offered, or even the simple Advanced tactical for Rifle? nope, no money. so he has created a small issue.

sad that our LEO's get bad training. I see them all the time and want to help them out at the range, even when they are shooting their MP5's.. live on FS

I do think Piazza needs to update his pics on the cerificates etc.. he's gained a lot of weight and less hair that's grey, lol

Who would really fall for these memberships? I have the diamond (and Master Blaster )membership and I'm happy with it. I don't attend Frontsight to represent a certain level of membership classification.

In all seriousness, they're never going to build any condos. How long has he been talking about the new resort? I'm curious what follows the president membership! LOL
How can you say that? He's still working on the plans and permits. I have total confidence that I will be staying at one of the condos during my FS training.

yep, just like the original FS with homes and all, safest city in the world. it will never be built. I heard he pissed of a bunch of investors... don't hold your breath

I think "no investors" is the goal here. Investors think they own the place and want their say in all matters while taking any cream off the top for themselves which is not good in the long run. It takes a while to save up 70 million samolians. A start-and-stop approach would end up costing twice as much over time (or so Piazza explained). Yep, there have been set backs (July 4th, 2007 didn't help things at all) but it resulted in the town model changing into the resort model to handle way more people than the original plan would have. I still hope he knows what he's doing. A closed Front Sight overgrown with tumbleweeds becoming a destination for kids from Pahrump on their motorbikes would be a sad, sad sight indeed.
